Greensmith Carving is based in an ancient oak woodland in the south Lake District, Cumbria.

We believe that if we look after nature, it will look after us. We have many projects where we are regenerating and preserving many aspects of nature.

The land is managed with a focus on improving the ecosystem whilst producing high quality resources and artwork.

We provide a range of stunning products in our online shop and we also create bespoke items.

Meet the team

The Woodsman

Thomas Smith

I come from a family of foresters and studied Ecology at university. This lead to me being able to travel around the world to work on conservation projects.

About 10 years ago, I started looking after the woods here in the south Lakes and began chainsaw carving, splitting firewood and I’ve not looked back!

Lots of people have helped me along the way including my late wife Lesley, who was a true inspiration.
